An architect’s house in a beautiful environment…

The purpose of La Maison Gervais is to welcome visitors from around the world, to experience the best of contemporary architecture with the French Art of Living.

This unique property is located just 45 minutes West of Paris, in the Vexin Natural Park nearby famous villages such as Giverny, La Roche Guyon and Villarceaux.

It has been designed and built by French architect Frank Salama.

La Maison du Vexin is a contemporary reinterpretation of a French Vexin barn...

From the street, the house immediately recalls a stone longhouse, which form has been modernized with a long horizontal glass opening on its entire width. The high exterior stonewall protecting its intimacy from the street, has two garage doors at each one of its two ends.

Inside, the house is composed of two wings forming an L shape and joined by a glazed gallery. This apparent simplicity masks a sophistication embedded into each and every detail: Vexin stones, flat tiles, whitewashed coating and oak, all traditional local building materials, are blended with Massangis stone and glass.

...in its traditional form and soberness

Overlooking the slope and partly cantilevered, the house is opened towards a green and wooded environment. One can live in total harmony with the rhythm of seasons and inhabit the landscape thanks to the views of the garden and the valley.

South and West oriented, very well insulated, and energetically efficient, the house has floor heating and a chimney in the living room, guaranteeing in each room a cozy temperature during wintertime.

This residence is above all very welcoming, comfortable, and functional. Designed on one main floor, the house is suited for reduced mobility persons.
