Fireplace

The living room fireplace can be used both for decoration and for heating. The log is at your disposal next to it, and fire starters can be found in the large cupboard left to the microwave oven.

The glass of the insert must be kept closed if you are not present in the living room. It is raised and lowered using the metal sleeve that attaches to the small rings on either side of the glass. The air flow is adjusted by moving the gauge at the foot of the window.

We pay peculiar attention to the aesthetics and comfort of the furniture. The living room sofa as well as the dining room chairs come from Ligne Roset, the living room armchair from Vitra, the office chairs from Herman Miller, the entrance bench from Bo Design and the outdoor furniture from Tectona.

Some of the furniture is custom designed, and some pieces created for Maison Gervais are available for sale: living room coffee table, consoles, and nightstands.

Garbage

We thank you for sorting your garbage in the available bins: glass, paper and rest.

They are picked up every Monday for household waste, every two weeks on Tuesday for paper packaging, and every four weeks on Thursday for glass.

Garden

Opposite the living room, you will find three beurré clairgeau pear trees at the feet of which nandina fire power grows. In the slope facing the lower garage are planted emera roses and ceanoths, as well as a few grasses. A row of lilacs borders the land, at the feet of which are daphne transatlantica, phlox, astilbes, as well as tiarella cordifolia.

In the embankment facing the kitchen grow periwinkles. Mosses (sagina, helxine) cover the stone garden patio, on the edge of which poppies and all kinds of other local plants acclimatize. In summer, a few plants can accompany your cooking: muscat vines, chasselas, thyme, rosemary, mint, sorrel, coriander… The top field is also available for ball games or other.

If you feel like gardening, feel free to remove weeds from the patio, or just listen to the flowers grow...

Please that this heating system, although very comfortable and energy efficient, also has some inertia when turned on. The thermostat is preset, and we recommend not to touch it. In case of need of urgency, it is located with the boiler itself, in the technical room. The living room also has a chimney for a warm and cozy feeling in winter.
